Nebulizers
A nebulizer is a device used to administer medication into the lungs. It is used by asthma patients and those who experience difficulty breathing. Nebulizers are small and compact. Most are stationary and need to be plugged into a wall outlet, but some models also have a battery for portable use or a DC adapter for use in a car.
A nebulizer is available with either a piston compressor or ultrasonic waves. A piston compressor creates a high velocity of compressed air or oxygen to flow through a liquid medicine to turn it into an aerosol to be inhaled. An ultrasonic wave nebulizer uses an ultrasonic wave to create a high intensity vibration that breaks the liquid down into a vapor mist that is inhaled. Ultrasonic wave nebulizers are generally lighter and quieter than a piston compressor nebulizer. We offer both options from Drive Medical, Invacare, Evo Medical and many other reputable manufacturers.
